Tapers Notes:

Woodstock couldn’t get the Beatles, the Rolling Stones or Bob Dylan in 1969. That miracle lineup was an impossibility then and for most of the years since, until the producers of Coachella finally made a facsimile of that Sixties triumvirate real with this weekend’s three-day Desert Trip festival in Southern California.

The Stones set was short on special effects (other than some fireworks near the very end) and none were needed. Stripped down, the Stones are still a rock & roll band to be feared.
The true thanks go not to me, but to the taping community behind whose footsteps I have followed, including those who have perfected the art of stealth recordings, the makers of the stealthy mikes, cords, adapters, and preamps, and those who have graciously shared their recording techniques.

I am merely a mike stand with a credit card and driver’s license.

As always, I don’t care what you do with these files, once you download them–they are yours now, except these files are not for sale, free trade only. You can thank me by uploading something of a similar genre or trading with me, so I can.

Regards,

Scooter

Notes: Recorded from Section E row 41 (Ronnie’s side on the floor). My seat was supposed to be quite a bit further back on the field, but they upgraded a bunch of us to the front section, so I ended up being much closer than expected. Despite the threat of rain and that there had been storms earlier in the evening, the weather was perfect for the show. I just love the fact that these guys are still going strong and are capable of putting on a sold show that is very entertaining besides the fact that they are living legends. Catch them while you can, and you won’t be disappointed. Long live the Stones! Enjoy!
